DMO threatens to sack officials who leak documents

The Debt Management Office on Saturday threatened to dismiss officials of the agency found to be involved in any form of unauthorised disclosure of official information or documents.

It disclosed this in a notice posted on its website on Saturday while reacting to a report on the alleged corruption scandal at the DMO.

It faulted the documents that were referred to in the report and vowed to investigate sources of the information that led to the story.

However, It added; The DMO, in line with laid down Civil Service Regulations, will brief relevant security agencies in the country to thoroughly investigate the sources of the documents, on which the sponsors based their story, with a view to bringing the perpetrators to book.

(This is) in line with Public Service Rules No. 030401 and 030402 which prescribes dismissal for unauthorised disclosure of official information as a serious act of misconduct.
