Gombe Doctors Tests Positive For Covid-19 (See Here)

The Gombe State Special Taskforce on COVID-19 has confirmed that a medical doctor serving at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Gombe has tested positive for coronavirus.
Chairman of the taskforce, Professor Idris Mohammed, told a daily briefing of the taskforce that the doctor contracted the coronovirus while treating a patient with kidney ailment who was brought to the hospital from Borno state.

According to him, the patient was on dialysis at the FTH, Gombe and was believed to transmit the virus to the doctor who attended to him.

He added that the doctor was since evacuated to an isolation centre where he is being treated.

Professor Idris also lamented that the taskforce is still persuading 31 patients whose tests results have returned positive but refused to be evacuated to the isolation centres for treatment.

Meanwhile, the taskforce said out of 88 suspected cases results they received on Wednesday, only two returned positive. Thereby, making active COVID-19 positive cases in the state to 11.
