The returnees arrived in the country through the Murtala Muhammed International Airport on May 6 and were immediately isolated in different hotels in Lagos.
The commissioner had a face-off with the Nigerians when he announced that they would all be tested for the virus, as they protested that they were not receiving good treatment and welfare.
They also protested that one of them who died from surgical complications, was being wrongly tagged a COVID-19 patient by government.
Meanwhile, the Lagos State Ministry of Health said on Sunday that 15 people who recovered from the coronavirus had been released from the various isolation centres in the state.
A statement by the ministry stated that among the patients were nine females and six males, all Nigerians.
The government said with the development, the total number of discharged COVID-19 patients in Lagos stood at 623.
