Student feared dead as Festac inferno engulfs Bethlehem college (Watch Video)


It was reported that an explosion which was reported in the early hours of Sunday has led to an inferno which has killed many people and left a lot of properties in ashes.

The explosion according to an eyewitness account affected a Catholic private school in the Abule-Ado, Festac area, Bethlehem Girls College.

The entire school was razed down beyond recognition by the inferno while many boarding students and staff of the school are feared dead, with the actual number yet to be ascertained.

Eyewitness account said people trying to be safe from the explosion ran into swamps between Festac and Abule Ado.

A good Samaritan is helping to take the elderly to the hospital to stabilise their breathing and check their blood pressures, as the explosion left them in terrible conditions. Many have also reported their sense sense of hearing have gone numb after the sound of the explosion rocked their ears.

In other accounts, there were also pictures of how the explosion shattered roofs, windows and doors of buildings and churches in the area.

Meanwhile, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has said the explosion wasn’t from a pipeline but was from a factory in the Abule Ado area.
