Nigerian Army redeployed a senior commander after complaining about Boko Haram attack (Video)

A senior commander of Nigerian Army who appeared in a viral video complaining about poor equipping of troops after an attack by Boko Haram left dozens of soldiers dead, was redeployed.

Olusegun Adeniyi, a major-general and commander of operation lafiya dole, Nigeria’s counter-terrorism headquarters in Maiduguri, was redeployed from Headquarters Theatre Command OPLD Maiduguri to NARC as Senior Research Fellow on Monday.

The GOC of the 1st Mechanised Division was directed to take over his position.

The development is coming barely 48 hours after Mr Adeniyi was seen in a video complaining about the brazen nature of Boko Haram attacks on troops.

Mr Adeniyi also complained that insurgents were outgunning troops and an intelligence failure was responsible for an attack that left dozens of soldiers killed last week.

Team wish Major General Adeniyi well for the rest of his career in the military and I want him to know that we are proud of him, his commitment to the war against Boko Haram and the obvious care, love and compassion that he has for his troops. Because the man is a true and quintessential patriot.
