Italian nurse with coronavirus commits suicide over fear of infecting others (Details)

It was gathered that a 34-year-old Italian nurse, who was identified as Daniela Trezzi, has committed suicide after she contracted coronavirus and fearing that she might have infected others.

The National Federation of Nurses of Italy has revealed that, Trezzi, is working at the intensive care ward at the San Gerado hospital in the town of Monza in Lombardy, a region of northern Italy that was hit the hardest by the outbreak.

However, In a statement released by the federation has disclosed that, Trezzi, was under heavy stress, fearing that she was spreading the virus while trying to help stop the crisis. Reported by Daily Mail.

Further added saying: Each of us has chosen this profession for good and, unfortunately, also for bad: we are nurses, the federation’s statement said. And the condition and stress to which our professionals are subjected is under the eyes of all. It was further added by the hospital’s general-manager, Mario Alparone, that Trezzi had been at home sick since March 10, and was not under surveillance. Although the nurse’s death is under investigation.

It was also added that about 5,760 health care workers have been infected by the virus, according to figures which was released on Tuesday by an Italian research institute.
