It was reported that Iran's Vice President for Women and Family Affairs, Masoumeh Ebtekar, has tested positive for the coronavirus.

According to Ebtekar's adviser, Fariba Ibtihaj, who said the vice president tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday. Also added that everyone in the vice president's team was also tested and the results will be available on Saturday," she said.

However, on Tuesday, Iran’s Deputy Health Minister Iraj Harirchi and another lawmaker, Mahmoud Sadeghi, tested positive for the coronavirus.

It was also revealed that the total number of infected people in the country reached 245 on Thursday and 26 deaths have been confirmed.
