Lagos government bans Okada, Tricycles, Opay and Gokada operators (Read Details)


Lagos State Government has banned the activities of commercial motorcycles, popularly known as Okada, and tricycles, which was also known as 'Keke Napep', in some Local Government Areas, bridges, and highways within the state. Moreover the ban also includes the activity of Opay and Gokada officials.

The government said the full enforcement of the ban would fully commence on February 1, 2020.

However, the news was disclosed via a tweet by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu's Senior Special Assistant on News Media, Jubril Gawat, on Monday.

It was reported that the affected local government are 15 Council Development Centres and they are listed as follow: Apapa, Apapa Iganmu, Lagos Mainland, Yaba, Surulere, Itire Ikate, Ojodu, Ikoyi Obalende, Iru Ikoyi-Obalande, Coker Aguda, Eti Osa, Lagos Island, Ikeja, Onigbongo, and Lagos Island East.
