Other African leader should emulate Nelson Mandela - Says Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria, has said that the Ex-South African President, late Nelson Mandela, left a legacy that other African political leaders should emulate.

Buhari said that one of the Mandela example was to vacate office once the constitutionally-approved term of office had expired.

He spoke at the State House when he received the Letters of Credence from High Commissioner of South Africa to Nigeria, Mr T. D. Mseleku.

Buhari also remember everyone that Mandela, served only one term as a President and relinquished power after serving 27 years in prison.

The late Nelson Mandela was an exceptional leader. After spending 27 years in prison, he only served one term in office as the president of South Africa. His legacy is unprecedented. We are taking a cue from him on the lessons of leadership, Buhari was quoted as saying in statement by his media aide, Mr Femi Adesina, after the ceremonies.
