Four arrested, one killed as armed robbers invade bank in Abuja (Watch Video)

Four out of six armed robbers who invaded  a branch of First Bank in Mpape, Abuja on Saturday have been apprehended by the security operatives and killed one.

It was reported that the  armed robber stormed the bank and stated shooting sporadically into the air to scare people away.

Some staff of the bank were on duty to balance their account as at time of the incident.

Their first attempt to enter the bank hall was succeed. But shortly after gaining access,  the  police and army arrived the scene but the robbers had refused to come out of the bank.

It was gathered that one of the robbers who made attempt to force his way out was shot but remained indoor with gunshots injury.

Abuja police command spokesman, ASP Mariam Yusuf, had confirmed to one of our reporter that normalcy has been restored in the area after four of the suspects were arrested and one of them gunned down at the point of escape.

Commissioner of police, Abuja command, CP Bala Ciroma, also confirmed that one of those arrested was a staff of the bank, who was acting as an insider for the four others.

Further added that it was a foiled robbery attempt as nothing was lost or taken away from the bank.
