Nigerian First Lady ’Aisha Buhari’ Has Called For Social Media's Regulation

Aisha Buhari has disclosed this at the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA)
Using China as a prime example, in her statement she called for the regulation of the social media.

She said since China with about 1.3 billion people can do such, isn't going to be easy for Nigeria to adopt the measure.

For someone to just seat in his house and started trending a false news on social media platforms, it is very dangerous and serious issue.

Since China is capable of controlling over 1.3bn people of their citizens on social media, I see no reason why Nigeria government cannot attempt of controlling only 180m people," she said.

She also said that the rising insecurity in the country is as a result of injustice, many Nigerians cannot travel to their states and villages and live peacefully.

She further said that there is a need for stakeholders to support President Muhammadu Buhari to fight insecurity.
