Kogi West Senatorial Election Declares Inconclusive By INEC (Read Details)


Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has declared Kogi West Senatorial election inconclusive on Saturday, November 16.

Professor Olayinde Lawal, the returning officer has declared the election inconclusive, he disclosed that the margin between Smart Adeyemi of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Dino Melaye of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is lower than the 43,127 registered voters in 53 polling units of 20 registration areas in the zone where elections were canceled.

He also revealed that the margin between the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Smart Adeyemi and that of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Dino Melaye is total number of 20,570, he said Adeyemi polled a total vote of 80,118, while his running mate Sen. Melaye polled a total vote of 59,548 within the seven local government area in the senatorial district.

Professor Olayinde Lawal Disclosed that INEC will announce a new date for the rerun of the election in the 53 polling units before a winner can be declared and returned.
